Your Voice Does Make a Difference:

I attended a conference that focused on Government Relations Divisions.  Part of the focus was to learn from other Government Relations Staff on best practices for growing successes.  One of the most important things that came out of these meetings was a local voice from local businesses was vital to making improvements happen.  Each success story involved a strong grassroots effort from the local business community.  Each failure happened because members of a community thought someone else was speaking for them.  As we start a new year our Legislative Agenda focuses on sustainable, efficient, and consistent programs for Northern Michigan.  The agenda specifically focuses on our region and what it needs to create successes.  We will need your voice to help make improvements in our communities.  This starts with you getting involved with the Chamber Government Relations Committee for local issues and extends to the work being done by Northwest Regional Chamber Alliance on regional issues.
