Two Chamber-member companies, Frontier Computer Corporation and Grand Traverse Container, had their expansion projects approved by East Bay Township on Monday, April 12.
The Traverse City Area Chamber of Commerce assisted in the process. Combined, the expansion projects will retain or create 84 jobs, spur more than $2.7 million in economic-investment activity, and create a flurry of profitable activity in the areas of construction, machinery, office supplies, and communications, as well as others.
Frontier Computers Corporation was recently nominated, and is a candidate, for the Chamber’s Small Business of the Year. In another positive sign of an improving economic climate, the Chamber’s 2010 Small Business Celebration saw the most nominations and applicants in the program’s six-year history.
Come congratulate Frontier Computer Corporation and all of the candidates at the Small Business Celebration Candidates’ Showcase tomorrow (Thursday, April 15) at Northwestern Michigan College’s Hagerty Center from 5:30-7:30 p.m. There is no cost to attend.
