Charles T. Cady is President & CEO at Strata Design, Inc. A veteran of over 34 years in sales & marketing at the corporate level, "Chuck" founded Strata Design, Inc. in 1988 in Traverse City, MI. Now in its 20th year, Strata Design, Inc. is one of the largest independent manufacturers of architectural casework and store fixtures in Michigan. Chuck is an active member of the Architectural Woodwork Institute, currently serving as President of the Great Lakes Chapter. Locally, Chuck serves as Chairperson of the Traverse Bay Economic Development Corporation and Chair of the Inland Seas Education Association.

Steve Rawlings, Vice Chairman

Steven Rawlings is a Regional Manager of Corprate and Government Affairs for DTE Energy (NYSE: DTE), a diversified energy company involved in the development and management of energy-related businesses and services. Steven serves as the company's regional public affairs representative for Northern Michigan and the Upper Peninsula. Steven serves as the corporation's representative for various community, business and government leaders and organizations. Steven earned a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Business Administration from Ferris State University and a Master's in Business Administration from Michigan State University. Steven serves on the Board of Directors for The Michigan 4-H Foundation, The Traverse Bay Economic Development Corporation and The Northern Lakes Economic Alliance. Steven is actively involved in and supports many non-profit community based programs in and around Northwest Lower Michigan.

Kathleen McManus, Treasurer

Kathleen McManus is Senior Vice President of Munson Medical Center. Currently on the Executive Committee of the Traverse Bay EDC and was elected to the office of Treasurer for 2008. Kathleen is a 1987 Leadership Grand Traverse Graduate. Additional community commitments/involvements include: Women's Giving Circle Steering Committee and Vice Chair of St. Francis Pastoral Council. Professional oranizations include: Michigan Organization of Nurse Executives Board Committee Chair, Michigan Hospital Association, and Small and Rural Hospital Council member.

Troy Terwilliger is the Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of Graceland Fruit, Inc. of Benzie County, Michigan, the industry leader in infused and dried fruits and vegetables. In his role as CFO and Treasurer of the company, he is responsible for all financial aspects of the business, as well as procurement, information technology, human resources, insurance and risk management, and legal matters. Prior to joining Graceland in 2001, Troy served for a decade in various financial capacities for Holnam, Inc., the largest manufacturer and distributor of cement and related products in the United States. Troy's career began in public accounting in Detroit, Michigan, serving both publicly traded and privately held clients in a variety of industries. Troy serves as Vice Chair of the Benzie County Economic Development Corporation, and is a member of the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Daniel Wolf is Managing Director of Dewar Sloan, a consulting practice focused on business growth, performance and change. For more than 30 years, Wolf has been helping major global corporations understand the fundamental linkages between strategy and execution. Much of Dan's consulting work involves the evolution of company direction, organization and resources. He brings a reputation as a creative, practical and constructive strategist to the common concerns of companies and their stakeholders. Before entering the consulting field, Dan held corporate leadership positions in business development, marketing, planning and strategy. Dan, who has an MBA from Michigan State University, is also an engaging teacher, lecturing at leading business schools on topics including marketing, entrepreneurship and product development. Dan is also active in community development, cultural and athletic organizations in Traverse City.

Doug Luciani has been president of the Traverse City Area Chamber of Commerce since January of 2003. The Chamber comprises four entities, including the Chamber, the Chamber Foundation, the Traverse Bay Economic Development Corporation, and the Traverse City Area Industrial fund. With more than 2,500 members, it's among the largest chambers of commerce in Michigan. Doug work for more than 12 years for the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce, the last several years as Senior Vice President of Business Development and Member Services.

A graduate of Cornell Hotel School, Don served 5 years in the US Navy and then managed restaurants and clubs before getting into the wines and spirits business. During his 23-year career with Allied Domecq Spirits & Wine, formerly Hiram Walker, Don was responsible for marketing and sales of group wines and spirits in various markets worldwide. He serves as an Agriculture Commissioner for the State of Michigan and sits on the Traverse Bay Economic Development Corporation and Traverse City CVB Board. He is a Fellow of the Culinary Institute of America and on the advisory committee for both the Great Lakes Culinary Institute and the Culinary Program at Grand Rapids Community College. Currently, he resides in Traverse City MI with his wife, Marylou where they are the Managing Partners of Black Star Farms in Suttons Bay, MI, a winery, distillery, inn, creamery and stables - a premier landmark agricultural destination.

Christopher Morse, CPA/PFS, MST, is the principal in charge of The Rehmann Group’s Traverse City tax practice. Chris has over 20 years experience providing accounting, tax, financial planning and business consulting services to family-owned and closely-held businesses, their shareholders and officers, as well as publicly-held companies. Chris is active in the Traverse City community, most recently on the board and advisory council of the Great Lakes Children’s Museum and as a founding board member of Mt. Holiday, Inc.

Matt Anderson , Director

Matt Anderson is a principal and CFO of Global Marine Insurance Agency; a specialty insurer selling marine insurance related products in all lower 48 states. The company employs 35 full time staff in Traverse City and will celebrate its 20th anniversary in 2009. Matt graduated from Traverse City Central High, Michigan State University with a bachelor of Arts and The University of Michigan – Flint with an MBA. Prior to Global Marine, he worked as a commercial banker for National City Bank and as a legislative aide for State Senator George McManus. Matt is married to Jennifer and has a daughter Macy.

Robert Bach is the Traverse Cty Area Industrial Fund reprsentitive to the Traverse Bay EDC Board. He is a retired professional Community Planner and Landscape Architect with over 45 years of experience in Community Planning, Land Development and Economic Development. Twenty seven years of his experience has been in Northern Michigan. He has been a member of the Traverse City Area Industrial Fund Board for over 30 years and a Traverse City resident for 41 years.

Kevin Byrne, Director

Kevin represents Grand Traverse County on the TBEDC Board of Directors. He is currently Chairman of the Grand Traverse County EDC, and also serves on the Grand Traverse County Brownfield Redevelopment Authority. Kevin works as a Financial Advisor with First Asset Financial, with offices on Eighth Street in Traverse City. He lives in Acme, with his wife Karen, and son Bill.

He is also a principle in Three West, LLC, a real estate and business consulting firm. Prior to 2003, Rick spent 18 years in the construction industry as owner of Cornillie Concrete. He is an Attorney, CPA and Licensed Real Estate Broker.

Timothy J. Nelson has served as President of Northwestern Michigan College since February 2001. During his tenure, NMC established the Great Lakes Water Studies Institute, the Health Education Institute (a collaborative educational partnership with Munson Health Care), a Michigan Energy Demonstration Center, and an Entrepreneurship curriculum.
President Nelson is active at the local, state and national levels in areas of policy and governance relating to higher education and economic development. He serves on the Executive Committees of the Traverse City Area Chamber of Commerce (the third largest Chamber in Michigan) and the Michigan Association of Community Colleges.

He also serves on the Development Committee for the Father Fred Foundation.

Steve Perdue is the President of Grand Traverse Industries. During the past 26 years at GTI he's provided vocational training and job opportunities for thousands of people with disabilities. Steve operates the service agency like a for-profit business, with accountabilitiy and efficiency, which has revenues from oprations (instead of grant money) fund GTI's training services for 300 clients a year in 10 counties.

Lee Wilson, Director

In 1971, after 4 years in the Air Force, Traverse City native, Lee Wilson began his career in local government working in the Kalkaska County Equalization Department. He returned to Garfield Township in 1973 to work with Township Supervisor, Fred Canfield, as the Assessor and, in 1977, became Township Supervisor when Fred passed away. During his terms in office, Lee has, and is still, affiliated with several state associations, as well as becoming President of the Michigan Assessor Association in 1997 and also President of the Michigan Townships Association in 1999. As a member of the Garfield Township Board, he strives to keep the regional economically viable by working with businesses and industry to accomplish their goals through zoning and infrastructure. Lee believes that he position is to be a servant of the people. That the community determines what the area looks like now and what it will be in the future, and by working through the board, he helps them to accomplish those goals
